MECOO holds bachelor’s degrees in Digital Arts and Environmental Sciences from the University of Virginia, and is a current 2026 Aunspaugh Fellow. Their multi-media practice takes shape from a combination of object-making, experimental photo and video, performance, and collage techniques. The artworks emerging from these processes are exercises in ecological fantasy, creating stories of the Earth that include our deepest passions, desires, and experiences. MECOO often employs Donna Haraway’s theories of S.F. (Science Fiction, String Figures, Speculative Fabulation…) as a method of entangling the body with the world.
